Change
Company – If you would like to
search for another company by name quickly, but do not want to return to the
search pages, simply type the company’s name or ticker symbol into the text
box. A window will automatically display
as you type to show you the matches available for the letters or names you
type. Click on a specific company to go
directly to that company’s page.
Recent
Companies – Click on the drop
down menu to access a list of recently viewed companies listed by their ticker
symbols and exchanges. Click on any of
the names in the list to quickly return to that company’s page.
Company
Details
This tab shows the
details of the company selected in the Search Results page.
It consists of ten
sub-pages, detailing various aspects of the company. The sub-pages are:
- Synopsis
This is always shown first and
contains a summary of some of the key company information.
- Business
Summary – Offers a short summary of the
company
- Key
Executives – Offers a list of several key
executives, their position within the company, age, and salary
- Hover over an executive’s name to get a quick, pop-up
biography or click on the name to go directly to that executive’s
information page
- Pricing
Summary – Offers pricing information for
the company you are viewing including a pricing movement graph.
- Choose from the drop-down menu different time periods
to see the change in pricing over that period. The chart and information will
regenerate automatically upon clicking a new period range.
- Key
Financials – Offers key financial data from
the most recent income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow
statements
- Company
News/Corporate Events – Offers
a list of news stories featuring the company and recent corporate events
- The Company News tab displays on default. Clicking on any of the topics will
redirect you to Recent News under
the News tab for the company
you are viewing and allow you to view the full text for that news
headline.
- Click the Corporate Events tab to view a list of
recent corporate specific events.
- Today’s
Stories – Offers today’s most recent
stories on the company
- Highlights
This shows a summary of some key financial information for the latest
complete financial year.
- History
This shows a list of the major events in the company's history. You can
manipulate the information available on this page topically as well as by
specific dates or date ranges by accessing the topic drop down menu or the
date range text boxes.
- Sorting
Company History by Topic
- Click the arrow to expand the topic drop-down menu.
- Make a selection or choose “All Topics”
- Click Add
to add your specific selection to the “Displaying Topics” list. You may add as many topics to this
list as you desire. When
finished, click Create to
repopulate the textual and timeline data sections to match your
selections.
- Sorting
Company History by Date
- You can search date ranges and topics concurrently or
independently of one another if you desire.
- Enter the start
and end dates in the fields provided to display a specific time period.
You can use the calendar icon () to open a
pop-up window with a calendar to click on the date you wish to select.
Clicking in the text field will automatically drop down a calendar from
which you can also select dates.
Note: Dates must be entered in the format: MM/DD/YYYY. Clicking in the text box will automatically generate
a pop-up calendar that you may also use to make your selections.
- Click Create
to repopulate the textual and timeline data sections to match your
selections.
- Exploring
the Timeline
- If you hover your mouse pointer over the timeline,
you will notice that it becomes a pointer with four directional
arrows. Left click over the
larger portion and drag your mouse to the left or right while holding down
the left mouse button to navigate the dates and information on the
timeline.
- Repeat the above process to the smaller timeline to
navigate through the years on the timeline faster.
- Business
This shows a list of the company's NAICS and SIC codes and a description
of the business areas in which the company is active. Additional Details
of the business activities are available at the end of the main text.
- Property
This shows a list of the property owned by the company.
- Subsidiaries
This shows a list of the company's subsidiaries, the percent of ownership
of the company in that subsidiary, and the country in which the subsidiary
operates.
- Click Expand all to expand all subcategories of
subsidiaries or Collapse all to hide the detailed breakdown of subsidiary
data.
- Long
Term Debt
This shows a summary list of the company debts.
- Capital
Stock
This shows details of the share capital and dividends paid by the company.
- Click on the Abbreviation in the search results list
to view stock details
- Earnings
Estimates
This shows the company’s summary and detailed consensus estimates for the
previous three years, each quarter of the current year, and the following
three years.
- Hover your mouse button over the Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4
columns to enlarge the projections for the immediate year.
- Click the Detailed
option next to Consensus Estimates to view a detailed list of estimate
data
- Business
Segments
This shows the business and geographic revenue analyses for major segments
of the company’s business operations.
- You can manipulate the data displayed based on
years/quarter from 3 to 15, scale, and currency.
- By default, data displayed is 3 years/quarters in as
reported scale and currency.
At the right of each
page is the My Mergent Tools function. This enables you to add the currently
selected company to the Company Analysis List or add executives to your
Executive List. From the My Mergent Tools buttons you may also access the
Company and Executive Alerts options.

Where appropriate, each page also features a link which will allow you to
download the data available on that page into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or
opens a printer friendly page so that you may print the page directly.
